Since I was young, I have always been concerned with fairness and looking out for others. Those traits naturally led me to the practice of law, and since 2005, I have been committed to helping my clients reach fair, practical, and equitable solutions to their legal issues.
I genuinely believe – both in law and in life – that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. I approach every conflict with respect, listening carefully, understanding the full picture, and giving negotiation a fair chance to succeed. This strategy generally leads to the best all round results for my clients… until it doesn’t. When respectful efforts don’t move the needle, I am more than willing to escalate the fight to where it needs to go. My clients have enjoyed success at all levels of court in British Columbia that I have appeared in, including Small Claims Court, Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal.
My practice focuses on general litigation, construction disputes and builders’ liens, and real estate development, where I work with clients ranging from individuals, to businesses, to many of the region’s biggest land developers.
Around the community, I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism Foundation Board and coaching my sons’ soccer and hockey teams for many years. Now that my boys have far surpassed my abilities, I am happily settling into the role of spectator and enjoying a bit more time for my own activities, including hockey, golf, tennis and pickleball.
