Rick Garner has become known in Kamloops as a genuine, approachable general litigation and personal injury lawyer who does whatever it takes to support clients and help them get the settlement they deserve.
Rick grew up in northern BC and moved first to Victoria for his undergraduate degree and then to Vancouver to study law at the University of British Columbia. In 1998, he moved to Kamloops and began practicing personal injury law, both insurance defence and plaintiff work. Early on, Rick knew he’d found the community he wanted to call home, and his niche.
Over the years Rick has found it incredibly rewarding to make a difference in the lives of clients, especially those who have been in car accidents and needed expert legal guidance so they could focus on recovery and look forward to a successful outcome. In addition to achieving a fair and timely settlement, Rick’s ultimate goal is to help clients reclaim the life they had before the accident.
Rick joined Gillespie in 2003, and appreciates the firm’s family and team atmosphere as well as its support of work-life balance.
Thanks to Rick’s small-town northern roots and his many outdoor pursuits, he is very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. In his free time, Rick enjoys hunting and fishing with his family, spending time at the lake in the summer and skiing in the winter. He also enjoys coaching hockey and giving back to his community whenever he can.
